"The footage you are about to view is a brief glimpse into the chaos that is Lamb Of God. No one was ever supposed to know about us. This band was a necessity unto ourselves. When we began playing music together in the fall of 1994, heavy metal had all but disappeared. You couldn't find a metal record in a store. you couldn't go see a metal band in a club. It just wasn't there. We simply had no choice but to make the music we wanted to hear because no one else was making it. Record deals and DVDs weren't goals or even fantasies... totally unrealistic.
As times changed and a fan base grew, we realized we were wandering, stumbling maybe into some kind of spotlight. The shows were getting bigger. Reviews, articles, agents and industry types all hailed the return of metal, and it was a bit comical to us. How could this be catching on? This wasn't supposed to be serious, not in a commercial or business sense, anyway. Lamb Of God was established solely to serve the creative interests and musical tastes of five people -- Chris, John, Mark, Randy and Will. That's it. No one else's opinion ever mattered...how could it? We were doing this long before anybody noticed, and we expect to still be doing this long after anyone cares. So with that in mind, we won't be changing any of our primary motivations. We're going to keep writing songs and keep playing them loud. As long as the five of us enjoy and respect what we've done. it's success. This is our heavy metal band. Thanks for watching."
